More than 250 people visited seven beautiful and inspiring yards on our recent Sustainable Yard Tour! People walked and biked between houses enjoying the shade of Wilmette’s many mature trees and reducing the carbon footprint of the event. Sustainable yards provide native habitat for birds, butterflies and pollinators. They help manage stormwater creatively to minimize flooding. They avoid the use of harmful herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers, and they often include edible gardens, compost systems and water features. Would your yard be a great addition for next year’s tour? Contact us to let us know.
