Brooke Bâby joined Go Green Wilmette in May 2026. She attended New Trier High School and is entering her junior year at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where her major is Environmental Studies with minors in Business and Spanish.
Brooke’s interest in sustainability began on family road trips to national parks across the country, where she developed an appreciation for the natural world and the importance of protecting it. At CU Boulder, she continues to build on that passion as a member of the Sustainable Business Club, Green Greeks, and Women in Business Club. She is also a Student Emissary at SPIKE, an interdisciplinary cohort that brings together students from across the university to collaborate on sustainability initiatives.
Brooke also conducts research with the Media and Climate Change Observatory (MeCCO), where she studies how the media discusses climate change and how those conversations shape public understanding. She will continue this work as a research intern in the fall.
At Go Green Wilmette this summer, Brooke has led biweekly beach cleanups at Gillson Park, helped coordinate the Sustainable Yard Tour, and contributed to a variety of community outreach initiatives. She has developed educational materials on home electrification for Wilmette residents and is excited to see her brochure become a resource for the community. Through these projects, Brooke has especially enjoyed connecting with residents and seeing how local efforts can make sustainability accessible and actionable.
Looking ahead, Brooke plans to build a career that combines environmental sustainability, business, and public engagement. She hopes to develop practical solutions that help communities and organizations reduce their environmental impact while creating lasting, positive change.
