(this event has ended)
presented by Go Green Wilmette and the Illinois Solar Energy Association
Mark your calendar to learn about residential solar from your neighbors! The ISEA Solar Tour is an annual, free event that offers the public the opportunity to view innovative green homes and buildings and see how solar energy can be used efficiently.
Solar is taking off. There were 28 solar permits requested in the past year in Wilmette alone! We encourage all solar owners to be part of the tour. Sign up now to be a solar host for the Sept. 30th Illinois Solar Tour. (By signing up through ISEA, you will automatically be part of Wilmette’s local solar tour.)
The local Wilmette tour is being held in conjunction with the Illinois Solar Energy Association’s (ISEA) state-wide tour. Visit the NORTHERN SITES page, and scroll down until you see the Wilmette listings. Check what type of tour is offered: video, in person, or curbside viewing only. See photos and information on more installations in nearby suburbs and all over the state. We’ll have many homes to view right here in Wilmette. (Not from Wilmette? See if your town has homes on the tour here.)

Our goal is to allow interested homeowners to learn how and why your neighbors have installed solar panels. Many different types of panel installations, including systems on steep roofs, flat-roofs, semi-shaded roofs and garage roofs, and east, south and west-facing panels are featured in these local installations.
Remember, if you can’t put solar panels on your roof, sign up for community solar via the Village of Wilmette’s program. For more information about community solar, click HERE
