Go Green Wilmette is working in collaboration with the Village and the Chamber of Commerce to green Summerfest, scheduled for July 20 and 21. The Village is providing a mobile water station to eliminate plastic water bottles and provide hand washing. We are working with the Chamber of Commerce, local restaurants and food trucks to reduce the amount of single use plastic plates and cups used. Food waste will be collected and composted through Collective Resource, compliments of Go Green Wilmette. Refuse stations will be set up throughout the festival area to make recycling easy. We are encouraging all to walk or bicycle to the event and will provide a bike corral. Kudos to the Village and the Chamber of Commerce for their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of the event.
