Go Green Wilmette hosts a Tree Walk each year in the autumn in partnership with the Village of Wilmette and the Wilmette Park District. Wilmette has many beautiful parks with majestic trees, so each year we select a park as the venue for a free, guided tour.
The purpose of the event is to help people:
- Learn to identify trees in their yards, neighborhoods and parks
- Explore the basics of how to protect their trees from environmental stresses
- Know which trees to plant in their yards
- Discover the benefits of native tree species
This event takes place the first Sunday in October. For details about this year’s tree walk, see our calendar.
