Solar Panels on Three Habitat for Humanity Lake County Homes

Go Green Wilmette has helped put solar panels on three Habitat for Humanity Lake County homes! We raised funds to put solar panels on a house built by the New Trier High School Senior Class of 2018 – the first solar installation on a Habitat house in Illinois. The solar system was installed by Windfree. This year, Windfree donated a complete solar system for the New Trier High School Class of 2019-built house.

We have also coordinated a third solar project benefitting a Habitat family. The Habitat for Humanity – Lake County’s Women Build project will be the first Habitat Women Build house in the nation to have solar panels, thanks to All Bright Solar, The Sun Company and Rethink Electric. Registration for the Community Solar Clearinghouse Solution Program (CS² Program) Now Available for Residents!

Following the Village Board’s endorsement of the Community Solar Clearinghouse Solution Program (CS² Program) at their December 14, 2021 meeting, residents can now start to enroll their residential and small commercial energy accounts into the Community Solar program!
