Reuse plastic pots from garden projects

Allison Sloan of Shady Grove Wildflower Farm in Evanston collects pots for reuse! You can drop off pots at 918 Wesley in Evanston. Allison says, “Any sizes smaller than gallon, preferably with no logos and no cracks. Cleaned and stacked even better! Trays are useful too.”
Check with your own favorite garden center to ask if they collect pots for reuse.

New LED lights use a fraction of the energy of older holiday lights. Upgrade to energy-efficient lights this year and drop off old or broken lights at the Village’s Public Works facility for recycling. The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) and its member communities are offering a Holiday Light Recycling Program, free of charge, for all SWANCC area residents.

The Rotary Club of Wilmette Harbor is hosting a book drive in partnership with Open Books. Drop off new and gently used books on Jan. 29, 2022  from 9am – 11am at:

3500 Lake Street in Wilmette
