Go Green Wilmette recognizes the important role of our faith communities in raising environmental awareness in their congregations and developing sustainable practices that protect and preserve our shared planet. Our Board member liaison:
- reaches out to all Wilmette faith communities to inspire their commitment to tend to our sacred earth through interfaith meetings, group presentations and discussions.
- encourages congregations to pursue energy and waste reduction projects, to follow sustainable lawn care/groundskeeping practices, to host “Roll and Stroll to Worship” weekends and to establish green teams.
- works with faith leaders and congregations in Wilmette and in the north suburbs to share best practices and enhance collaboration.
