Join us for a fascinating presentation on the interrelationships between trees with Dr. Suzanne Simard.

In her book, Finding the Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest, Dr. Simard’s research  reveals trees are more than timber or pulp  resources. Trees are interconnected via complex fungi connections that serve as social networks. They  communicate vulnerabilities, learn, adapt behaviors, recognize neighboring trees, and  contribute to forest resiliency.  It is through these underground networks that Mother Trees connect and sustain the forest community.

Dr. Simard is a professor of Forest Ecology at the University of British Columbia and a pioneer of plant communication and intelligence. Her work has influenced filmmakers (the Tree of Souls in James Cameron’s Avatar). and her TED talks have been viewed by more than 10 million people worldwide. The paperback edition of her book will be released on June 21st.
