Join us for our annual Sustainable Yard Tour!

This year, Go Green Wilmette will feature native habitat plantings installed by the Village of Wilmette in addition to several private sustainable yards. For several years, the Village has been adding native plant habitat to all corners of our community, creating small prairies and more formal gardens along roadways and around Village buildings. Come see how good these plants look while they provide essential services such as flood water mitigation and feeding sources for pollinators. Learn about the Village’s experience and future plans for native plantings.

This year’s private yards include innovative ways to compost and grow fruits and vegetables as well as to create pleasant spaces with repurposed objects and clever design. See a prairie border, a water feature, shady arbors and much more, all maintained with sustainability in mind.
