Go Green Wilmette is focused on helping people create healthy and beautiful lawns. Our plant sale results almost 20,000 additional native plants in our area providing habitat, storm water management and beauty. We have created Greener Lawn Care Guidelines and are urging residents to review them and call their lawn care company to discuss. We are contacting lawn care companies about their sustainable services (if any) and to remind them of the gas-powered leaf blower restrictions. (Contact us to let us know if your lawn care company offers any sustainable lawn care services.) We are educating people about the detrimental effects of leaf blowers and encouraging the use of cleaner, quieter electric blowers and rakes. And finally, we are planning to provide virtual tours of sustainable yards in full bloom in late summer.
